i just got an S for econs. i am terribly disappointed and upset, but not with my scores.
i'm upset with the pragmatic nature of everything. screw it if this gets me into trouble, but i have to say it.
i was shocked during the econs lecture when the lecturer told the people in the LT that those who received a C or D would be placed in a class where they would have a supposedly better teacher so as to help them push for an A in the A levels. yet he did not mention anything much about those who got Es, Ss or Us. basically what the ESU people are supposed to do is to see their own econs tutors for consultation, which is basically what everyone weak in any subject should do.
so i was asking myself why the unit has chosen to focus on those people who "have the potential to score As"? look, does that mean that us ESU people have no potential to score As? maybe it was not the intention of the unit, but that was certainly what i felt they were getting at from that announcement.
what i got from the very short announcement was this:
1) BCD people will get better teachers to push for As
2) A people will maintain their form
3) ESU people will just see their own teachers for consult
4) ESU people have much smaller potential of getting As for A levels and thus will not be the main priority of the econs unit.
now correct me if i'm wrong, but i had a very very strong feeling that the above was perhaps, and most likely unknowingly implied by the unit. yeah we're weaker in econs. so shouldn't that mean we need special attention? shouldn't we be in the class that can help us get our As, if not at least Bs?
fair enough, we are to blame for our bad results. no doubt perhaps some people didn't study hard enough, misinterpreted the question or whatever. so that means we need help.
frankly i'm not one to flame anybody, and i don't think i'm doing so right now. if i am, i apologise, but i have to say what i just said. and i will, and am considering writing in to whoever the above may concern.
