i guess there will always come a time when you make new friends. then after a few months you will come to realise how many of these new friends you make are truly your friends, and how many others are merely 'friends'
some just put on this facade in front of you, a vizard concealing what truly lies within. and what lies within could just be this vile, unconceivable contempt for you that you just don't understand. and you just contemplate on this and just ask yourself what warranted such contempt
but you don't have the answer
many just live their life holding a mask before them, so much so that their face has already become a mask itself, and they only choose to show their true self to those who they feel are their friends. and when they are faced with those who they perceive otherwise, their face once again conceals their inner being. their actions conceal their inner thoughts. they put on a mask in an attempt to conceal their true emotions towards one who is deemed a 'friend'.
how apt as Shakespeare uttered the words in MacBeth 'let your faces be vizards to your hearts'. and this is the exact same thing that we, perhaps i, face every day.
the prospect of having to differentiate between my friends, and my 'friends'
it pains me to have to deal with such a matter, sorting out friends and 'friends'. and i just wonder why such behaviour takes root in people.
unfortunately, it would not be 'so foul and fair a day i have not seen', but rather so foul Man's heart i have not seen.
this is indeed something worth lamenting.
i just wonder who is my friend, and who is my 'friend'
or perhaps i do know already
