you know i am awfully tempted to buy all the Jeff Dunham DVDs and watch it all in one night. that guy is seriously frickin hilarious. in case you don't know who he is, check it out
and if you want a sample, i seriously think you should check THIS out. one of his best.
SILENCE! I KILL YOU!
anyway
yeah. he's hilarious. i think Achmed is one of the best, but then again Walter is just deadpan and that is funny too. and Peanut is just, well, spastic. they're all funny. but then again they are all the same person, cause he is a ventriloquist. if you don't know what is a ventriloquist, check out wikipedia by yourself. i'm too lazy to continually provide links, a la above.
oh well. today is a big day indeed.
congrats to Abi, Talia, Evangeline, Daniella, Clarence, Eeyang and Grace on getting baptised. indeed as it is said in Romans, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 6.4 KJV) Baptism signifies obedience to our Lord and a burial with Christ and a resurrection, signifying your new life in Christ. so praise the Lord, and continue to walk in His precepts, that you may live a life that is pleasing in God's eyes
and yesterday was the worship academy worship session. i must say that for five weeks of training, the worship was splendid. and yes, i have always believed that worship comes from the heart, so a worship does not need to be perfect, because honestly nothing is perfect as we have all fallen short of the glory of God. so as long as the heart is right, the worship will speak to the people, and it would be pleasing in the sight of God, our one and only audience. and in Psalms 33.3 the Psalmist tells us to "Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy", and indeed may you continue to worship the Lord in the playing of your instruments, in your singing, and proclaim His name. it's just so encouraging to see all the people stepping up to worship, and well, i guess the 'older' people have to step down sooner or later. i myself have probably stepped down from playing in the youth to allow Jarron to take over. and it's a good thing really, to have the newer generation of youths stepping up, taking our place, but the aim not changing, which is to worship our Lord and Saviour.
and of course Good Friday and Easter. not really just mere holidays, because to call it just a holiday would discredit all that our faith stands for. in essence, Good Friday was the day that Jesus came to Earth for, that is to die for our sins. but rather than to grieve about His death, we celebrate His resurrection on Easter.
and i guess Good Friday was impactful.
one thing that really touched me was seeing the video. yes strange. they aired a video in the middle of the worship. a snippet from some film of Jesus' death on the cross, how He accepted death so that we may gain eternal life. and i guess it's these things, the fundamentals of our faith, that we so easily forget. and it is good to have these reminders. and they played Majesty (Here I Am) after the video. and apt song i must say, because i was just sitting there and just.... i just had to grasp how God, and infinitely wise God, sent His Son to die on the cross, a perfect, blameless sacrifice so that we may gain eternal life.
and i cried.
i cried because i didn't deserve it. i just didn't deserve such a sacrifice. i mean why send a sinless man to die for someone like me.
and it's all for love. all for love that our Saviour died.
and i just want to thank Him.
