i was wondering about a certain issue. if you have watched Minority Report, it's this show about crime in the future. basically in the show, in the future they had something called Pre-Crime, where they have precogs who can read into the future and predict murders before the murders actually happen. so the Pre-Crime unit would actually arrest the person before he or she commits the murder. now all the murders are mostly crimes of passion, because people already fear the precogs and would not be stupid enough to actually plan a murder. so all crimes are murders without any previous plans

but then a question we have to ask is the ethics of such a unit. now this is a sci-fi show that would most probably not happen in real life, but it really provokes thought...

i mean, would it be right to arrest someone for a murder he or she has not yet committed? would the person commit the murder if he or she knew that he or she would commit the murder? if that is so, would this so called "Pre-Crime" be a benefit?

think about it.
