You know sometimes we stray. Jesus in the Bible talks about us as sheep that go astray. See, sheep are easily strayed. The thing is that all the sheep would do is eat. So how they eat, is they would bend their head, look at the grass, and start nibbling. They would finish the grass in front of them, then move forward and continue eating, all this without looking to see where they are. And this would actually continue, until when they finish and they raise their head, they actually find that they have strayed from the flock. So temptation is exactly like the grass. When we are exposed to these forms of temptation, and we just say to ourselves: “a little nibble would be enough”. However, this nibble carries on, and on, with more nibbles. One day you would just finally realise how far you have strayed from God. The Bible then talks about us recognizing God’s voice. So when we stray, what we have to do is just be still and listen for His voice to guide us back, back to our Saviour. We all stray at one point or another. What we have to do is just to listen. Just listen. He will bring you back for He is forever faithful, even when we are not, simply because He loves you. God loves you.
God tells us to “let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven”. My the decision to change the blog title was more of trying to show others I am a Child of God, that through Him, my soul is set free by His love. I chose the title after the song, Freedom We Know, where it goes “soul set free in the One I love”. I guess it is true. When we actually believe in God, believe that Jesus died on the Cross for us; we are set free, set free from the snares of life. Set free from the sinful nature; set free from the world. Yet at the same time we are captives of Christ. While we are set free from sin, we are bounded to God. However, the opposite is also true. When we stray, when we go back to the world, we are “set free” from God, but now we are bounded, and held captive by the sins of the world. So actually we have to ask ourselves, whether we want to be a captive of God, or to be bounded to the world.
