THE DARK: PART FOUR The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins – but in the heart of its strength lies weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. No the dark does not win. It is generous, it is patient, but not invincible. The dark shelters us from what we think we fear. Tempts us with what seems as great power. Great, but temporal power. The dark feeds on fear. Fear of what we do not know, what we doubt and what we think we fear. The dark tempts us slowly, all the while displaying its limitless power. Or so we think. We think that the dark wins. The Dark declares so. Whispers to our innermost being, just telling us that light does not hold it back. It tells us that the brighter the light, the darker the shadow. Yet the opposite is true. A sole candle can hold darkness back. The Dark is not invincible. It is more vulnerable than what we think. We fear the dark, fear its power. But the dark is weak. We see the light resulting in darkness, but we fail to notice that with a single match lit, darkness disappears. Vanishes. Light casts a shadow, but darkness is caused by the presence of light. Darkness is the absence of light. That is the fragility of darkness itself. Its weakness. It feeds on fear but fears one thing. That is us not fearing it. A single spark dispels the Dark. A single candle. But Love is more than a candle Love can ignite the stars.
